Es ist angerichtet - Beadsoup is served

Since Saturday all the talented ladies from Lori Andersons Beadsoup have started to show off their creations. And all the eye-candy is so much fun and really overwhelming. I love every single piece I've seen so far. I was especially lucky and got Marieke, a fablous glassartist, as my swap-partner. The beads she sent me left me breatheless and a little bit anxious because I was not sure wether I could create something that would do them justice.

Another point was that the colors challenged me because usually I tend to grab bold and bright colors. I decided to work only with the beads she sent me - let the beads speak for themselves - and added just a few handmade copper-components. I think copper matches the green and the ivory in the beads just perfectly. I even passed on my beloved sari-ribbon, guess that was the hardest challenge for me:-)

Because the clasp was so beautiful I thought it would be a pity to hide it in the back and so I incorparted it into the front of the necklace.

For the gorgeous focal-bead I draw a bead on a wire and connected it to a soldered chain I made from jumprings and hammered washers.

And now - drumroll please - the whole piece from different angles - Marieke, I hope you like what I did with your beads!

And please visit the other bead-soupers who reveal their pieces today - you won't regret it. I promise!
Versprochen!

Absolutely stunning! I adore the clasp! And I hope you enjoyed it -- I was really challenged by my colors, too, and I know several people had the same issue, but came up with simply amazing results. THANK YOU for partying with us, and I hope you do for the next one, too!
