Back from Milan - Zurück aus Mailand

A few weeks ago we've been to Milan (our annual escape from the cologne carnival). And - looking back - I have to say it took us too long to get back to Italy - the probalbly most beautiful country in the world. And Milan is such an elegant city with the most beautiful shops, bars and coffee shops -  Milan is known as the city of fashion and you can sense that everywhere.

Vor ein paar Wochen sind wir bei unsere alljährlichen Karnevalsflucht nach Mailand geflogen. Und rückblickend muss ich sagen, wir sind viel zu lange nicht mehr in Italien, dem wahrscheinlich schäönsten Land der Welt, gewesen. Und Mailand ist so eine elegante Stadt mit den schönsten Shops, Bars umd Cafes. - man spürt überall, dass es die Stadt der Mode ist.


We visited churchs - the most famous one is  "le duomo" (pic above). Funny thing about this one  - you can walk around on the roof with a fantastic view over the city. 

Wir haben Kirchen besucht - die berühmteste der Dom (Bild oben), dem man lustigerweise aufs Dach steigen kann mit einem herrlichen Blick über die Stadt.

There were many more, for example Samt'Ambrogio, dedicated to Ambrose, Milan's patrom saint, whose body is displayed in a crypt along with the bodies of two martyrers. Spooky:-)

Besichtigt haben wir noch eine Menge mehr z. B. auch Sant'Ambrogio, Ambrosius, Mailands Stadtpartron, geweiht,dessen Körper gemeinsam mit zwei Märtyern in der Krypta gezeigt wird. Gruselig:-)

And of course Milans famous cemetry with its incredible and artful tombs and momuments  - Monumental Cemetery (Cimitero Monumentale)

Und natürlich auch Mailands berühmten Friedhof mit seinen unglaublich kunstvollen Gräbern und Monumenten  -  Cimitero Monumentale

Even though I'm not that big opera fan I was impressed by Milana Opera "La scala". Look at that Foyer, so cool

Auch wenn ich kein großer Opernfan bin, war ich doch beeindruckt von der Mailander Scala - schaut Euch nur das Foyer an, so cool

At the opera's little museum was an exhibiton with costumes - I so wanna have one of them:-)

Im kleinen Museum der Oper gab es auch eine Austellung mit Kostümen - Ich hätte so gerne eines von denen:-)

And I'm afraid you have to bear another post about that trip,because I found amazing shop decorations.
